In recent decades, Tehran has faced rapid population growth and physical development, which has led to major challenges, including excessive consumption of non-renewable energy, increasing urban costs, and energy imbalance. The environmental consequences of this consumption, such as air pollution and related diseases, have highlighted the need to find solutions to manage consumption and replace it with clean energy. In this regard, urban planners have taken effective steps by utilizing theories and practical experiences. Given the high share of energy consumption in buildings, the use of optimal strategies in design and implementation is considered a top priority. Building windows and facades, as the most important interface between indoor and outdoor spaces, play a key role in energy management. This study examined the improvement of energy efficiency in a typical public building using the innovative Climate Studio software. Climate Studio simulation software helps designers create sustainable, humane, and intelligent spaces with its fast analysis, high accuracy, and integration into the design process. The findings show that the use of smart glass reduces not only the instantaneous light, but also the annual average light from 3048 lux to 632 lux, and prevents glare by automatically adjusting the incoming light in accordance with standards. As a result, environmental conditions are within the desired comfort range throughout the year and energy consumption is significantly reduced. This solution can be used as an effective model for energy optimization in urban buildings.
